Enough is enough

On 18th August 1940, Leutnant Horst "Jakob" Tietzen, in his Bf-109E of 5./JG51, claimed his 20th victim during the Battle of Britain. P/O Pawel Zenker of 501 Squadron, in his "SD-W" Hurricane Mk.I had enough and shot down the German ace over the Thames estuary. The body of the German later washed ashore at Calais, France. Tietzen was promoted posthumously to Hauptmann and received the Ritterkreuz. On 24th August, Zenker was last seen chasing another Bf-109 over the North Sea but failed to return.
