Three black Fokker D.VII of Jasta 40, sometime during late summer 1918. Foreground aircraft belongs to Willi Rosenstein, a nine victory ace of Jewish origins. He flew quite often as the wingman of Carl Degelow, whos aircraft leads the formation. Degelow was the last man receiving the Blue Max, the day the Kaiser abdicated and two days before the end of the war. The last aircraft in the scene belongs to Paul Groll, who had 4 victories before getting KIA on 7th October 1918.
